Cookie files

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files stored in your internet browser or by your internet browser in the operating system of your computer. You have full control over the use of cookies. You can disable or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing your browser settings. You can delete cookies that have already been placed at any time.

The purpose of using cookies is to make the website more user-friendly. For example, they are used for integration with Google Maps, to remember items in your shopping basket, or – if you have a user account – to remember your login information and your language preferences. If cookies are deactivated, some functions of the website may not be available.

When visiting the website for the first time, you are informed of the use of cookies by a banner that also includes a reference to this Privacy Policy and a button where you can accept their use on this website.

Embedded content from other websites

User data collected by our cookies are not used to generate user profiles, but solely for the purpose of improving the quality of our website and its content. But we do use embedded content and third-party services (Google Maps, Google Analytics, Google Adwords) on this website, for example to display a map of how to get to WITT-POMP, as well as to analyse user traffic and improve the website. Comments

On some pages on our website, you can leave a comment. We then collect the data visible in the comment form, such as the visitor’s IP address and their browser signature as an aid to spam detection (Akismet service).

An anonymised string of characters created from your email address (a so-called hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. When you approve a comment, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, its content and metadata will be stored indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve subsequent comments automatically, without sending them for moderation each time.

Contact forms and correspondence

We use contact forms on our website. By means of a contact form, we process the following data:

  • forename and surname / business name
  • return email address and/or telephone number

These are used once to generate an email message and send it to us. These data, as well as the message itself, are not stored on the website – they go to the firm’s password-protected email inbox and are only accessible to WITT-POMP employees, who, based on them, can provide you with the information you are looking for by email and/or call you back. Emails are stored indefinitely.

These data are recorded in the online shop’s system and stored for the time necessary to handle transactions, delivery, billing, as well as to handle complaints, warranty and statutory liability for defects. If you create a user account on our website, your transaction data and purchase history will be stored until you decide to delete them.
